FAQ
Q: How often should I get a massage?
A: Since many of the benefits of massage are cumulative, consider scheduling regular massage sessions. If you are seeking to alleviate chronic postural tension or rehabilitate a soft tissue injury, be aware that more than one session is usually necessary to achieve your goals.
Q: When should I not get massage?
A: Please DO NOT schedule a massage if you are sick, have an infection, undergone major surgery in the past 4 weeks, have suffered a recent acute injury or are under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs. If you have sharp, stabbing or shooting pains, along with tingling, numbness or weakness that is not relieved by rest, movement or over the counter pain killers, please contact your primary care or urgent care provider immediately!
Q: Is it safe to get a massage if I have diabetes, cancer, heart problems or other health challenges?
A: Absolutely. In fact, many of my clients use massage as an essential piece of their health management strategy. Call me if you have specific questions or concerns.
Q: How long is a typical massage?
A: One hour is a good session length for most people, providing enough time for stress-free relaxation. Massages with frail or ill people may be shorter. Longer sessions provide extra time to work out “knotty” areas or add some stretching. I can recommend a custom session just for you.
Q: Can I use my own music, lotion, linens, etc.
A: Absolutely! I will accommodate anything (within reason) that will help you relax or meet your session goals.
Q: Are walk-in massages available?
A: No. All massage sessions are by appointment only. Contact me now to request a session.
Q: When can I get a massage?
A: Clinic sessions can be scheduled from 1:00 pm until 8:30 pm Mon - Sat. On-site sessions can be scheduled from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm seven days a week.
Q: How far in advance do I need to schedule?
A: Appointments may be made on short notice (less than 24 hours). However, I recommend appointments be made at least 1 day in advance. Remember that the more popular times book earlier.
